Deluxe Alligator Safari - Sunday September 24

The Coastal Land Trust and its sponsors have pulled out all the stops to create the Outer Banks' most deluxe kayak eco-tour experience imaginable!  This tour takes you to one of the most pristine areas on the Outer Banks: The Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.   Home to alligators, black bear, bobcats, red wolves, giant cypress trees and so much more.  You will explore the waterways surrounding a once thriving lumber town and moonshine outpost.  Alligators sun themselves regularly in the marshes and are a frequent sight.

You will discover flora and fauna unique to this area.  Kathy Mitchell, horticulturist for the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, will share stories, history and the importance of the native plants of this area.  A camera is a must.

And if that wasn’t enough, you will be spoiled with muffins and gourmet coffee for a light pre-paddle breakfast, a gourmet bag lunch following the paddle and a great “Saving the Places You Love at the Coast” Coastal Land Trust T-shirt.

Schedule
