Bird Island will be dedicated as a North Carolina Coastal Reserve on Thursday, October 17th at 1:00 pm. The ceremony will take place at the residence of Bill Ducker, Chairman of Bird Island Preservation Society, in Sunset Beach, NC. The dedication will feature remarks from Representative David Redwine and Governor Mike Easley. A tour of Bird Island will follow the ceremony.
